HFMD 手足口症



以下数班怀疑出现类似病例, 家长请注意孩子的健康状态。
There are suspected cases (or some confirmed) reported in the following classes:
1H, 1J, 1E, 1I, 2C, 3J, 3D
4A, 5E, 5F, 6I, 6H

Parents with children in these classes please observe you child closely and take preventive measures.
Signs & symptoms
·         Fever.
·         Sore throat.
·         Ulcers in the throat, mouth and tongue.
·         Headache.
·         Rash with small vesicles on hands, feet and diaper area.

"Generally, a person with hand, foot, and mouth disease is most contagious during the first week of illness. People can sometimes be contagious for days or weeks after symptoms go away. Some people, especially adults, who get infected with the viruses that cause hand, foot, and mouth disease may not develop any symptoms. However, they may still be contagious. "


Guideline from MOH

 Preventive measures: 
Wash hands frequently with soap or antiseptic solution
Do not let infected children attend nurseries/day-care/schools while symptomatic and do not let them attend activities that mix with other children, e.g. birthday party, interest classes


* Please inform the school and your day-care if your child is diagnosed with the disease to prevent further spreading of the disease the other children

手足口症潜伏期3-5天,发病初期出现类似感冒的症状,轻微发热、咳嗽、流鼻涕。手掌、脚掌,口腔,有时臀部,亦会出现无痛的皮疹。一旦发现感染了手足口症, 应及时就医,避免与外界接触,一般需要隔离2周。也请家长通知校方以便学校可以做出防范措施.手足口症多数可自愈,无后遗症。
