The First PIBG AJK meeting (10/7/2013)

We have conducted the 1st PIBG AJK meeting on 10/7/2013.The following are the few things we discussed.

1. Set Up Bureau
     a. Communication-blog, website, notice
          Ken Choo, Teacher Kenny Liong, Rozie

     b. Safety, Cleanliness and Health
          i.  maintanence - Lai Fah
          ii. traffic & security - Tiew Guan Huat
          iii. cleanliness and gardening- Teacher Tan Ah Ha

     c. Welfare and activities
         Sydney Mak, Ellen Chong Gwek Lan, Janet Tan, Tan Huey Huey, Dr Yew Mee Ong, Kenny Liong

2.  The tuition issue

     a. questionaire will be distributed out to get feed back from EACH and EVERY parents regarding to the tuition.
     b. reply slip regarding to tuition and the tuition fee will be distributed to parents, to be executed by secretary, Teacher Wong.

3. Toilet
     a. first inspection by AJk had been done.
     b. solution: to improve the flushing mechanism.
     c. Lai Fah and Tiew Guan Huat to get at least 3 quotation on 3b
     d. quotation should be presented and decision to be made in the next ajk meeting


3. Activities
     a. recycling activities
         Objective: to turn rubbish into income. build rapport and team spirit among parents and school.
     b. stage performance
          objective: to cultivate good moral value among the children.
     c. Year six graduation and reward ceremony


*We welcome parents to volunteer to join our bureau, especially those who have contacts orinterest in 1b(i)-(iii)

*We are in the preparation to upgrade the toilet. Parents who have experties or contacts of good contractors, please contact us to quote us.

PIBG updates

1. toilet -
AJKs and Mdm Tang had a quick check on toilets' cleanliness 2 weeks ago. 

It was after lunch time and all workers had cleaned the toilets. Mdm Tang suggested to replace some dustbins to swing bins at female toilets, and relocated the dustbin into toilets ,for the convenience of disposing sanitary pad.

Some flushing systems not working - Mdm Tang will place a bucket of water in toilet, children can flush water manually if the flushing system is out of order. 

There is water supply problem to the male toilet at 3rd floor new block, Some doors can't be locked. 

AJKs plan to have another visit to discuss toilet issues

Finalised some rules and regulations for toilets, will distribute a copy to all parents, paste at toilets, we need parents' help to brief and emphasize to our children. Some hardware upgrade is needed.

2. Security - plan to hire a Rela staff at the main gate for road safety, have not finalized yet. 

3. An educational drama for children (std 1 - 6) will be held on 8pm  21 Sept 13, more details later 

Hari Raya Holiday

The school just received an official circular from the education department regarding the Raya Holiday arrangement last evening.
We will post the holiday notice here as soon as we  receive the announcement from the school.

Doctor loses thumb to armed robber - SS 19/6

PETALING JAYA: A female doctor lost her left thumb to an armed robber in front of a polyclinic in Jalan SS19/6, Subang Jaya near here early Tuesday.

Subang Jaya police chief Yahaya Ramli said the victim, in her 50s, also sustained severe injuries on her left arm after being slashed with a machete by the robber in the 1.20pm incident.

She was walking to her car in front of the polyclinic when the robber attacked her before snatching her handbag and fleeing the scene.

"The suspect is believed to have fled the scene on his accomplice's motorcycle," he said when contacted here.

He said the victim was taken to Sime Darby Medical Centre for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.

The police are tracking down the suspects and the case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code, he added. - Bernama

Cancellation of std 6 extra class this Saturday

I just got confirmation from HM , extra tuition class this Saturday 6 Jul is cancelled as teachers will be going to attend classes.
